I suck!

Well, I truly suck at blogging. Sometimes I feel like I have nothing much to say...especially in comparison to my friend Dallas. Between her everyday life and raising a 7 1/2 month old...she has so much to report on.

I had my interview with Laurie Blakeman's office last week. As usual, I walked away thinking about how I could have better answered the questions. Well on Tuesday night, I was offered the job! Yay!!! It's full-time with benefits. And the big plus....it is so close to where I live. I'll save about an hour and a half each day in travel time.

Otherwise, my life has been pretty uneventful. On Saturday, I went to the Tyler family Christmas dinner. My godmother got back from New Zealand on Friday, so I was able to see her at the dinner. I didn't insist that Robert come along because there were so many people there. With the exception of my godmother and my grandmother, I only see the rest of them once a year. The dinner was really good and we had a really nice time.

On Tuesday, we had our bookclub meeting. We discussed Honeymoon in Purdah by Allison Wearing. It was a really cool book that I would not have normally chosen. Next we are reading Justice: Crimes, Trials, and Punishments by Dominick Dunne. One of the other options was a book about a guy who is in rehab for alcohol and drug addiction...thanks but no thanks!

Weekend Update

Well, it was a fairly busy weekend. After going to the gym and picking up Craig's birthday present, Robert and I had dinner and went out to Overtime for some drinking and dancing. We had such a good time. Afterwards, we took a cab to Funky Pickle. The pizza was not so good. The crust didn't taste like it was thoroughly cooked. I barely had three bites and I couldn't finish my slice. Robert also thought the dough was poorly cooked, but gladly finished my slice. Because it was such a nice night, we decided to walk home rather than take a cab. On Saturday, we were a little slow to get going. We finally got our asses in gear and left for our respective gyms at around 12:30. I had intentions on coming home after the gym and dropping off my bag before heading out to do some grocery shopping. I though I would just take a quick 20 minute nap before heading out. Well...an hour and a half later!!! Woops! I zipped out for movies and groceries and was home just after 6 pm.

Yesterday, we had Craig's birthday dinner at my parents' place. He's 26!!! Yikes! We bought him Need for Speed: Most Wanted game for his XBox. He was so excited to get it home and finally play it...after Survivor off course!

This week looks like it is going to be a bit saner than last week. Last week, our office hosted an open house, and on Thursday, Dallas and I went to see "A Christmas Carol' at the Citadel.

NEWS UPDATE - I have an interview with Laurie Blakeman's office on Thursday afternoon!! If I get this job, it will be full time with benefits and the office is very close to where I live. Wish me luck!

Damn!

After seeing all my friends have their pictures on their profiles, I finally decided to do the same. It didn't take too long to figure out...but I did it. It's actually a picture of Robert and I, but whatever. I don't have many pictures of just me.

I am damn tired today. My coffee just is not big enough. I drove out to the airport last night to pick up Dallas, Darren and Sweet P. By the time they got through customs, got into the car, and hit Micky D's on the way home...I didn't get home until just after 1 am!! So far, it has been pretty quiet today at work and I am hoping it stays that way.

I promise

Okay, so I will try to be a bit more consistent with blogging. Sometimes I feel like I don't have much to say. Last night I went to the gym and I had an amazing workout. However, my muscles that are buried deep underneath my chest are in a bit of pain. For some reason, the gym was packed. I am really scared about going there in January when everyone and their dog have made a resolution to go the gym more. Robert tells me that the insanity usually dies off in March.

Other thoughts that have popped into my head:

1. Why are people who refuse to use a lock on their gym locker, or merely toss their bag on top of the lockers so shocked when their stuff is stolen?

2. I have to play dumb at work more often than I care to think about.

3. I don't know how people can work out and check out people at the same time. If I get distracted, I mess up my form.

4. Dallas, Darren and Paige have no idea what they're coming home to. It's a good thing they put winter coats in the car for the ride home.

Okay...

So I suck at keeping up with blogging. I'm usually too busy at work to do it, and by the time I get home from the gym, I'm too tired or the last thing I want to do is spend more time staring at a computer screen.

Some of you know that my commute to and from work is a long one. It gives me a lot of time to think. These are a few things I have thought about and or learned.

1. No matter what, my sports bra will always get cold on the commute from work to the gym.
2. Having your digital cable hooked up on Grey Cup Sunday between noon and 4 pm is far too great of a gamble.
3. Sometimes all you need when you don't want to go to the gym is to do just that...go to the gym.
4. It's nearly impossible to continue a friendship with someone who has repeatedly said, and not always to your face that, they have "a funny feeling" about the person you have chosen to be with.
5. As much as I hate to admit it, but I wound up taking hair advice from my bald boyfriend...and it worked!
6. After reading the latest Marie Claire magazine, I realized how selfish many people are and how they just cannot appreciate the thought of a gift.
7. I should have gone to bed earlier last night.

That is about all the updating I am going to do for now.
