Well, I truly suck at blogging. Sometimes I feel like I have nothing much to say...especially in comparison to my friend Dallas. Between her everyday life and raising a 7 1/2 month old...she has so much to report on.
I had my interview with Laurie Blakeman's office last week. As usual, I walked away thinking about how I could have better answered the questions. Well on Tuesday night, I was offered the job! Yay!!! It's full-time with benefits. And the big plus....it is so close to where I live. I'll save about an hour and a half each day in travel time.
Otherwise, my life has been pretty uneventful. On Saturday, I went to the Tyler family Christmas dinner. My godmother got back from New Zealand on Friday, so I was able to see her at the dinner. I didn't insist that Robert come along because there were so many people there. With the exception of my godmother and my grandmother, I only see the rest of them once a year. The dinner was really good and we had a really nice time.
On Tuesday, we had our bookclub meeting. We discussed Honeymoon in Purdah by Allison Wearing. It was a really cool book that I would not have normally chosen. Next we are reading Justice: Crimes, Trials, and Punishments by Dominick Dunne. One of the other options was a book about a guy who is in rehab for alcohol and drug addiction...thanks but no thanks!

Weekend Update
Well, it was a fairly busy weekend. After going to the gym and picking up Craig's birthday present, Robert and I had dinner and went out to Overtime for some drinking and dancing. We had such a good time. Afterwards, we took a cab to Funky Pickle. The pizza was not so good. The crust didn't taste like it was thoroughly cooked. I barely had three bites and I couldn't finish my slice. Robert also thought the dough was poorly cooked, but gladly finished my slice. Because it was such a nice night, we decided to walk home rather than take a cab. On Saturday, we were a little slow to get going. We finally got our asses in gear and left for our respective gyms at around 12:30. I had intentions on coming home after the gym and dropping off my bag before heading out to do some grocery shopping. I though I would just take a quick 20 minute nap before heading out. Well...an hour and a half later!!! Woops! I zipped out for movies and groceries and was home just after 6 pm.
Yesterday, we had Craig's birthday dinner at my parents' place. He's 26!!! Yikes! We bought him Need for Speed: Most Wanted game for his XBox. He was so excited to get it home and finally play it...after Survivor off course!
This week looks like it is going to be a bit saner than last week. Last week, our office hosted an open house, and on Thursday, Dallas and I went to see "A Christmas Carol' at the Citadel.
NEWS UPDATE - I have an interview with Laurie Blakeman's office on Thursday afternoon!! If I get this job, it will be full time with benefits and the office is very close to where I live. Wish me luck!

Damn!
After seeing all my friends have their pictures on their profiles, I finally decided to do the same. It didn't take too long to figure out...but I did it. It's actually a picture of Robert and I, but whatever. I don't have many pictures of just me.
I am damn tired today. My coffee just is not big enough. I drove out to the airport last night to pick up Dallas, Darren and Sweet P. By the time they got through customs, got into the car, and hit Micky D's on the way home...I didn't get home until just after 1 am!! So far, it has been pretty quiet today at work and I am hoping it stays that way.

I promise
Okay, so I will try to be a bit more consistent with blogging. Sometimes I feel like I don't have much to say. Last night I went to the gym and I had an amazing workout. However, my muscles that are buried deep underneath my chest are in a bit of pain. For some reason, the gym was packed. I am really scared about going there in January when everyone and their dog have made a resolution to go the gym more. Robert tells me that the insanity usually dies off in March.
Other thoughts that have popped into my head:
1. Why are people who refuse to use a lock on their gym locker, or merely toss their bag on top of the lockers so shocked when their stuff is stolen?
2. I have to play dumb at work more often than I care to think about.
3. I don't know how people can work out and check out people at the same time. If I get distracted, I mess up my form.
4. Dallas, Darren and Paige have no idea what they're coming home to. It's a good thing they put winter coats in the car for the ride home.

Okay...
So I suck at keeping up with blogging. I'm usually too busy at work to do it, and by the time I get home from the gym, I'm too tired or the last thing I want to do is spend more time staring at a computer screen.
Some of you know that my commute to and from work is a long one. It gives me a lot of time to think. These are a few things I have thought about and or learned.
1. No matter what, my sports bra will always get cold on the commute from work to the gym.
2. Having your digital cable hooked up on Grey Cup Sunday between noon and 4 pm is far too great of a gamble.
3. Sometimes all you need when you don't want to go to the gym is to do just that...go to the gym.
4. It's nearly impossible to continue a friendship with someone who has repeatedly said, and not always to your face that, they have "a funny feeling" about the person you have chosen to be with.
5. As much as I hate to admit it, but I wound up taking hair advice from my bald boyfriend...and it worked!
6. After reading the latest Marie Claire magazine, I realized how selfish many people are and how they just cannot appreciate the thought of a gift.
7. I should have gone to bed earlier last night.
That is about all the updating I am going to do for now.

I just want to sleep!
So, I just had my flu shot on Saturday and all I want to do is sleep. My boss, who also moonlights as a pharmacist, advised me that it takes about 72 hours for this fatigue to pass. It's only now just been 48 hours. I guess that explains why I was struggling to keep my eyes open at the Muscle Beach Classic on Saturday night.
The show on Saturday was really good. Robert tells me it was better than last year's show. They had this guest poser there who placed 7th in this year's Mr. Olympia. I don't know...he looked pretty impressive to me. His muscles were massive and he had a level of flexibility that you don't often see in guys with such large muscles.
Otherwise, the weekend was fairly relaxing. Tonight, I'm hitting the gym and then I'll be home for the night. Tomorrow, my boss is doing a medal presentation ceremony for 29 of his constituents. Guess who gets to MC it...that would be me. I am soooo looking forward to it.

Man...
I can't believe it has been over a week since my last blog. I've been so busy, and by the time I get home from the gym I usually just want to sit and relax.
My weekend was crazy busy. Dallas and I went to the football game and had an amazing time. On Saturday, Carrie and I went to Dallas' candle party. I showed plenty of restraint when it came time to buy. That night we celebrated Robert's birthday. On Sunday, I just relaxed and did a bunch of stuff around the house.
This week, I've continued my trips to the gym. The trips home from the gym are darker and colder. On that note, have I mentioned to anyone how much it sucks to come into the gym from outside and have to put on a slightly chilly sports bra? Let me tell you that gets your attention.
On Wednesday, I got my hair timmed, coloured (strawberry blonde) and straightened. This time, my straight hair did not garner the response, "Are we going out tonight?" the way it did last time.
Also, this week I was struggling to sort out and deal with Robert's birthday gift...an MP3 player. Long story short, the one I originally got him was defective and I had to exchange it yesterday. Now all is good and he's a happy guy with his MP3 player. We just have one problem...now I want one.
This weekend, we're doing the other part of his birthday gift. Get your minds out of the gutter....we're going to the Muscle Beach Fitness and Body Building Show. We've got really good seats, so hopefully it will be a good show. I have never been to the Muscle Beach competition before, but I think Robert has been to a few of them.

Weekend update - late
Sorry for the late post. I was waiting for some pictures from my brother. This past weekend, we celebrated two birthdays - Robert's and my dad's.
Here is a picture of the birthday boys:

Craig and Jodi made a fabulous pasta dinner followed by a tasty cake with strawberries and whipped cream.
Prior to dinner, we opened cards and presents. We got my dad a Helly Hensen fleece jacket. My mom got him a wind up emergency radio for when they move to Victoria. My parents bought Robert the latest Black Eyed Peas CD. Robert will get his present from me this weekend. After dessert, the whole family posed for a picture.

After being stuffed silly with dinner, dessert and drinks, we just relaxed and visited around the table. Here's another picture of Robert and I. I realize I am wearing the same top from the last picture of us together. I need to go shopping!
Otherwise, not much else has been going on. I've just been going to the gym. This weekend, we're going out to celebrate Robert's birthday, going to Dallas' candle party and depending on which night we go out to celebrate his birthday, going to the football game might be an option.

Are you kidding me?
Okay, so I'm not up at all hours of the night with a six month old baby. But...it would be nice to sleep in on a Saturday. I woke up at about 8 am, and have been struggling to get back to sleep ever since. All I ask is that I sleep in until at least 9:30 am or 10 am.
I don't have much on the plate today. I'm going back to the gym sometime today and then headed over to my parents' for a quick visit. My DVD player crapped out on me this week, so I was in the market for a new one. My dad had won a $25 gift certificate for Best Buy from that McDonald's monopoly contest. Anyway, he told me he was going to go to Best Buy to buy me a Sony DVD player and the $25 towards it. Those blasted things are so tiny - the gift certificates that is. My dad can't find the Best Buy gift certificate, so instead got me a DVD player from Costco.
Tomorrow, Craig and Jodi are having the family over (incl. Robert) for a dual birthday dinner for Dad and Robert. It should be a nice evening.
Question - Does anyone else find the Splenda commercial disgusting? The dialogue goes something like:
Little girl - I'm lucky. I have a Splenda daddy!
Ewwwww!!!!!

A tip...
This is a tip for anyone considering sending a form letter to any level of government...DON'T!!
This morning, my co-worker and I we greeted by over 200 form e-mails that were originally addressed to the Premier and cc'd to all MLAs regarding same-sex marriage. All theses people did was go to a website, enter their name and e-mail address and voila...an e-mail was sent to all the MLAs. We're even getting some from people in other provinces. If you are going to make your concerns known to any level of government, at least take the time to put your own thoughts to paper instead of signing your name to someone else's. Would you like to know how we are handling these e-mails? They are being deleted.
Exhale - Okay...I'm done my rant for the day.

Amendment
Well yesterday's post regarding good intentions versus reality can also be thrown out the window. I did not go grocery shopping, nor did I go to book club. I did go to the gym later than planned because I had witnessed two pedestrians get hit by a car on Jasper Avenue and 113 Street. I was waiting for the bus when I heard a loud screeching. When I looked up, I saw this car hit two people. I think they're alright, but it was a little unnerving to see something like that.
After I stayed and gave my name and number, I went to the gym. After I got home from the gym I just relaxed and did a few loads of laundry. I went to put in a DVD only to discover that it doesn't seem to be working properly. I called the help line and they advised that I buy a DVD cleaning disk to clean the lens. Very very frustrating!

Good Intentions vs Reality
Before I begin today's post, I will thank Erin for inviting me to last night's movie. I haven't been to a movie in a long time and had fun being out with my girls...all stale oily popcorn aside.
Anyway, I have so much to do today and I had created a plan to get it all done. We will call this my good intentions. The comments in parenthesis are what's already happened, or will likely happen (reality)
1. Go to the gym and begin work-out at 6 am.
(Didn't wake up until 7:30. Will go to gym after work instead.)
2. Go grocery shopping after work
(Has now been replaced with going to gym. Besides, Robert and I will eat last night's leftovers anyway.)
3. Catch bus at 7 pm to get to book club.
(Haven't read the book anyway, may replace with going grocery shopping...but probably not. Also may replace it with doing laundry. Good possibility - almost out of underwear.)
So as you can see, I'm off to a good start.

Sniff! Sniff!
If Paige could read the title of today's post, she would likely squeal and laugh..but alas she is only 6 months, so her mommy will have to read it to her!
This past weekend was a crazy one. On Saturday, Dallas, Darren, Sweet P and I met up at my parents' condo and went to the football game. I wouldn't say that the Esks trounced the Roughriders, but they still beat them and that's good enough in our books. Rider fans were pretty loud and enthusiastic on their way to the game and during half time, but were pretty quiet upon exiting Commonwealth. Afterwards, we went for a yummy dinner at Santos. We stuffed ourselves silly.
On Sunday, Dallas, Sweet P and I went to the Woman's Show. I was awake a bit earlier, and was slated to meet them at 10:30 am at Tim Horton's. Note - If you say you are going to meet someone at Tim Horton's on Jasper, you need to specify 107 Street or Commerce Place. Anyway, I decided to stop in at Albert's for a quick bite to eat before we took on the throngs of women and SUV strollers. It was a good thing we went early because shortly after lunch, it was packed. Dallas bought a huge jar of minced garlic and treated herself to a 5 minute massage. I bought some garlic spread and a Better Homes and Gardens Cook Book. You know that red and white checkered one that our mom's have - it's that one, but it's pink and white (fundraising for Breast Cancer research.) Afterwards, we went for a quick visit with Erin. I was home just after 6 pm and really should have taken Dallas up on her offer to go grocery shopping.
Tonight, we're going to a movie preview. I think it's for North Country. Tomorrow night, I have book club to discuss a book I have yet to finish.

Busy weekend!
So last night I had to work out solo because Robert wound up working late. I think I did pretty well. My legs are a bit sore today, but not as much as they would have been had I not stretched them out last night.
This weekend is already turning out to be a busy one and it hasn't even started. Tonight, we're going to the gym again and afterwards, I'm not really sure what the plan is. Tomorrow morning, we're planning and going to the gym. Afterwards, we're headed to the Edmonton Eskimos game where they are going to trounce the Roughriders! Go Esks Go!
On Sunday, Dallas (and maybe Sweet P), Erin and I may go the Women's Show. We just have to coordinate the plans.
Somewhere in there I need to go grocery shopping and do laundry!
Poof! There goes my weekend.

There is hope!
So, I didn't post yesterday. I didn't really have much to say. This got me to thinking...is posting for the sake of posting the same as talking for the sake of talking. If you post for the sake of posting, are you doing just to hear yourself type??
Last night was relatively uneventful. We didn't get to the gym until after 7 pm. Correction...I didn't start my workout until after 7 pm. I was waiting out front to meet Robert, but he entered the gym through the Jugo Juice store that is attached and we didn't see each other. I didn't want to harass him (AGAIN!) by calling him on his cell. I'm standing there when he comes out in his gym clothes asking why I'm waiting in the lobby? So, we're not off to a good start because now I'm in a hurry. I, and those who know me, know that when I'm hurrying I get clumsy. Fortunately, in the time it took me to change, I managed to relax. We had a really good workout, but we didn't get out of there until almost 9 pm.
Afterwards, I just relaxed, had a late dinner, watched Martha Stewart fire some lazy chick. Before retiring to bed, I had a Epsom salt bath and worked on the novel I'm supposed to have read by the 18th. It's called The Sunda Philosophy Club by Alexander McCall Smith. I'm on page 33 of 247. I think there's still hope. This book is a mystery, which isn't normally a genre I read, but I am enjoying it quite a bit so far.

Overdue!
Oh my, it has been a while since my last post. I guess that is the result of a fairly busy long weekend.
On Thursday night, Robert and I went to the gym. Afterwards, we went to the casino to play some games and have a bite to eat. Shortly before we left, Robert sat down to play Carribean Stud. After 5 losing hands, Robert put down the last of his chips. I told him, "you are going to get a straight flush." He flipped over his cards and behold, he had a straight flush - A,2,3,4, and 5 of diamonds. He won 10 percent of the progressive jackpot which was up to just over $84,000. He walked away with just over $8,400. We were both very happy and excited.
On Saturday, I went to my friend Carrie's wedding. Robert couldn't come because he worked from 8 am until after 6pm. I hung out with Amy and Brande. We had so much fun. The wedding was awesome, and Carrie looked amazing. Both Amy and I forgot our cameras. While Carrie and Bryan were signing the papers, I remembered that my cell phone has a camera. So I opened it up and took a picture...all of a sudden this chimpanzee/monkey sound comes out of my phone!! Amy and I just started laughing. I guess the shutter sound was set to "Chimp!" So in the middle of a quiet church, my phone makes a monkey sound! Classic Keltie moment as some people might say. The reception was held at the Union Bank Inn. It was so nice. The food was amazing and the cake was pure chocolate decadence!
On Sunday, Thanksgiving dinner was hosted at my parents' condo. It was so good and we were sent home with plenty of leftovers.
Yesterday, we just relaxed and watched the football game and went out for a bite to eat. We didn't quite make it to the gym, but we're back at it tonight!

Every other day
So I wasn't in the office for long yesterday, and went out shortly after I got home from work.
Last night, Amy and I took Carrie out for a girls' night before her nuptuals this weekend. We surprised her with a limo, and took her to the Sawmill for dinner (not before stopping at Humpty's as a joke!) After dinner, we drove around the city checking out the sights and lights. By the time I got home, all I wanted to do was crash. It's funny how prime rib and wine does that to a girl. Otherwise, not much to report. Dallas left me a menacing comment requesting that I post something.

It's not just a rumour...I suck!
Yikes! I haven't posted since Thursday. I took it easy this past weekend, since the previous weekend was eaten up with wedding related activities. On Saturday, Robert and I went to the casino. He fared well; I lost $40. On Sunday, we went back to the casino, and this time we both did well. We had dinner at the casino and then went home to watch some movies. Actually, this past weekend was a bit of a movie extravaganza! We rented Fever Pitch (funny!), The Ring 2 (scary!), Beauty Shop (cute, lots of booty shots for the boys, and a super hot guy stylist for the girls), Guess Who (a lot better than I expected!)
Tonight, we're going to my gym. I think Robert is considering joining my gym. I think we're going to revamp my program so that I can keep up with my progress.
Interesting observation - You know when offices and shops put a sign on their door or window that says "Back in an hour," how do you know when they will be back? Maybe they put the sign up 5 minutes ago, or 55 minutes ago. It's just something I have always wondered.

Eventful and unevenful
Last night, my night was uneventful. However, Robert had a very eventful evening. To make a long story short, he wound up breaking up a fight that appears to have started because of road rage. I'm sure as I talk to each of you, I will fill you in on the details.
Tonight, we're renting some movies tonight and barbecuing again. While there won't be any 97 cent skewers of shrimp, I am definitely doing up some shrimp to go with our steaks.
On a lighter note, for those who have not seen Robert (and for those who have:

Shrimp is no longer 60% off!!
Not too much to report today. Last night was pretty low key. It is 'that' time of the month, so I spent a good chunk of the night on the couch with a hot pack. Robert and I just stayed in and watched the first half of the Amazing Race and Supernatural.
No big plans for tonight, but we're having a barbecue tomorrow!!! I checked at Save On the other day and previously frozen shrimp skewers were no longer 97 cents, so I will likely buy them for our dinner tomorrow.
Given how unsexy, and unstripper-like I feel, here's a little something for you to laugh at.

Shoot me now!
Another day of working pretty much all alone. and so far no freaky people...yet. My dear friend Carrie suggested I install a trap door (a la Mr. Burns from the Simpsons) so that should any other wierdos come in, I can do away with them at the push of a button.
I think I have fully recovered from the lack of sleep this weekend. I crashed pretty hard last night and slept until 7:30 this morning. No big plans tonight.
Wow this is a boring post!

Interesting things happen when you're alone!
I mean when you are alone at work.
I'm still recovering from the hangover caused by lack of sleep and alcohol/food consumption this past weekend. This afternoon, I was on my own for a couple of hours and some of the most bizaar things were happening. Firstly, a vendor we deal with was bringing in some documents for signing. When he asked me whether there would be a fall session, I began to tell him that there likely would be because the PCs want to put through regulations regarding JPs and same sex marriage. Well, the vendor got on this vent about how he is Christian and he doesn't believe in same sex marriage. He went on to say how God didn't intend for women to share a bed and have sexual relations, and the same goes for men. He was utterly disgusted that homosexual couples were permitted to have and/or adopt children. While I respect his beliefs, I had to wonder how the issue of same-sex marriage really affected him...unless of course a man crawled into his bed.
Anyway, shortly after that, a constituent of ours came into the office. We're not really sure what he wants. He is talking about how this government is covering up known peodiphiles and is actually making money. He refers to James Rozko, Carla Homolka and Nick Lysyck (BMO scandal). And then he starts talking about his post doctoral thesis from 1973 about this. He also goes on to say that his reputation is being assasinated etc etc. A strange day I must say!
With that theme in mind....

Wedding weekend - finally over!
So I missed one day of posting. I have an excuse...I was in the wedding party for my friend Angela!!
Our hair and makeup appointments were at 8 am yesterday! Yikes! I had set my alarm for 6:30 am, however I woke up at 5:30! I wound up at the hair salon by 7:45 am, where I informed my hairdresser Alex that the only places open at 7:30 am on Whyte Avenue were Tim Horton's and his salon! Thankfully he had muffins and bagels on hand. He also made some mean lattes for us girls. Afterwards, we headed to Angela's parents' place (thanks Virginia and Robert!) to have some lunch and mimosas while we got ready. Here are some pictures of the wedding party. I know, I know - my eyes are closed in one of the pictures. I think my eyes are open in the other 80 thousand pictures that were taken!

The ceremony was beautiful. I was so nervous walking down the aisle. We were told, "If you think you are walking slow - walk slower!" Most of us girls had to take the lead on that one as the groomsmen walked us down the aisle. We all teared up when Angela walked down the aisle. She looked so pretty! Here's a piture from after the ceremony. Angela and Steve wanted to keep the reception line short, so they didn't include the wedding party.

The worst part was by far, having our photos taken at the Legislature. Getting there was fun. We went in a limo that barely fit the wedding party. But once we got there, it was so cold...but we tried to have fun. We even posed for pictures with some Ferarris and we nabbed some actors that were doing a time period play or something.
The reception was really nice. The head table was served their dinner, dessert and even drinks. We were all glad that it was finally over. The consesus at the gift opening today was that we all crashed within seconds of hitting the pillow last night.
Anyway, as I get more pictures, I will share with those who are interested. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

So much "reality"
So it's the day before my friend Angela's wedding, and for some stupid reason...I'm nervous. Not really scared nervous, but excited nervous. I don't really want to be at work today. I feel like I should be helping.
Hooray for me...I finished my speech/toast last night. I keep it short and sweet. Let's be honest, no one wants to hear me or anyone else drone on forever. They just want to hit the toonie bar. I don't blame them.
I didn't do much last night. I went to my parents' condo for dinner and then we moved an area rug and some other stuff into my place. We watched Survivor and The Apprentice last night. So much 'reality' tv to watch, so little time.
D & D - I hope the Esks win tomorrow night and it's not like their last home game that we went to and froze our asses off!

Is it weird?
Is it weird that, given the fact I have written speeches for my boss, ministers and even a deputy police chief, I am anxious about making a toast at my friend Angela's wedding? Are you surprised that I was asked to step in as maid of honour on August 29th and I still haven't worked on it?? So you can imagine what my plans are for tonight. Maybe I will work on it while Robert and I watch "Saw." It might prove to be an excellent distraction. Tonight I'm going for dinner to my parents' place and then were moving an area (a nicer looking one) to my house. Robert may or may not join us. It all depends on when he is finished work.

Untitled - Part 2 (I couldn't come up with a good title)
Okay...so far the verdict of two people is that I was wise not to buy 3 skewers of previously frozen shrimp for 97 cents.
Last night was the finale of BB6. Not too pleased with the final two, and I still hate that Jenn chick. I'm glad Kaysar kind of gave it to her. Well from one tv obsession to another....America's Next Top Model starts tonight! I know I'm lame.
I didn't do much last night. I just cleaned up the house and hunkered down for the BB6 finale. I'm alright with taking it easy because this coming weekend is Angela's wedding and it's going to be hectic! For those of you that don't know, I am now Angela's maid of honour. Angela and the previous MOH had a major falling out, so I was asked to step into that role. This might sound harsh...but I really don't have anything to do. The wedding shower is done and the stagette is over! I think I just have to sign the paperwork and give a speech at the reception. Is it weird that I am a speechwriter yet I cringe at the thought of doing one myself?
Anyway, that is pretty much it from my little corner of the world.
And now...why break tradition:

Adventures in Barbecuing...would you buy a package of shrimp skewers marked down to 97 cents?
So, we finally got to use the barbecue last night. Robert and I met up at Save on Foods to pick out our dinner for the night. They were out of New York Steak at the butcher, so we picked up some marinated steaks instead. Before Robert got there, I noticed they had packs of 3 skewers of shrimp. They were orginally priced at nearly $3.00 and were marked down to 97 cents. I was very aprehensive to buy the shrimp, so I didn't even mention it to Robert...until after dinner. He says I should have bought them, but I said I was a little suspicious of buying seafood marked down to one third of the price. So, please feel free to share with me what you would have done.
Anyway, after numerous light attempts and working out the kinks, we finally had our first barbecued steak...and it was pretty darn good.

Decision
While I was watching Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 4 this weekend, I noticed one of the secondary characters had this sexy accent. I think she was Hasidic. Anyway, I've decided that Robert and I need sexy accents. I think the only way to get a sexy accent, without faking one, is to move to foreign country. I know it sounds like a strange idea, but we would sound so hot!!!
My weekend was relatively quiet. Yesterday, I went to my parents place to work on cleaning an area rug that is coming to my place to replace that old lady area rug I currently have. They took me out for lunch to Alberts. We also went to fill up the propane tank for the barbecue. So far, we have not had steak...maybe tonight.

Moving
So I went over to my parents' condo last night to help the out with unpacking. I have to say it looks really good. It's going to be a nice and cozy place. I didn't get there until almost 6 pm. We made their bed and cleaned out the bathroom so that they could have shower without having to crawl around too many boxes. They took me out to their favourite Italian restaurant, Santos. It was so good and just what we needed to fill us up after moving stuff and enduring the cold weather.
Afterwards, I came home and got ready to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 4 with Robert.
Tonight, I have to go pick up my dress from the tailors, and then I'm not sure what we're doing tonight, but I just know we've both been looking forward to the weekend.

Skipped
So I skipped a day! I hope no one noticed....in fact, no one probably cared!! Anyway....
Yesterday was a short day at the office as I had a constituency office managers meeting at the Annex yesterday. I was home by 3:30 pm. It was so awesome! I had just such a relaxing day. Last night, Darren and my dad brought over the television (YAY!) and the barbecue. My dad tells me that the propane tank was basically empty. He's going to have it filled and bring it over. So I guess Robert and I won't be dining on steaks just yet.
Today is moving day for my parents. After work, and dropping off a library book, I'm going over there if not to help, then just for moral support.

Untitled
Hey...lots of musicians have tracks called "Untitled" so why can't I?
The beginning of another work week...blech!
Last night, I went for dinner at my parents' place. Since they are moving into their condo on Thursday, it was the last supper at the Rowland Road house. We had a really good time. During this whole process, my parents have been purging their stuff. This week, I'm getting their 'old' 27 inch flat screen television and their barbecue. Robert was so happy that we're getting a barbecue finally. Apparently, "we're having steak everyday!!" Boys!!!
Otherwise, I've just been trying to keep warm. Our place is heated with radiant heat and the heating pipes haven't been refilled with water yet! So I've been either wrapped up in a fleece blanket or soaking in a hot bath!

Shock!
I went to the game last night with Dallas and Darren, and would you like to know what the highlight of the night was? Beating one another up with the thunder sticks we bought in support of those affected by the Hurricane. Actually it was fun beating each other up, although I don't think it was the intended spirit of the thunder sticks! If we had actually paid more attention to the game, we would have walked away more disappointed. We wound up leaving 5 minutes into the 4th quarter. In addition to the team playing so poorly, I think about 4 people in a section near us got arrested for fighting. We did not want to deal with a drunken worked up crowd at the end of the game.
Poor Dallas was wet from watching Darren's team play, and sitting out in the wind and rain just made her colder. I was in pretty rough shape myself when I got home, so I can only imagine how Dallas felt. I must say, it's awfully nice to have a warm body to come home too.
Today, I went with Angela and her mom to finalize the flower order for her wedding. They are going to be so beautiful. She's having blue hydrangeas and fire and ice roses (white roses with red tips) in our bouquets. I can't believe her wedding is only two weeks away.
I hope everyone stays warm this chilly weekend. That is what I plan to do!

Can you be just 'whelmed?'
Erin's latest blog title inspired my title. So the way I figure it, I can really only come up with one witty blog title per week!
I can't believe the weather has cooled down so much. I finally gave in and put all the blankets back on my bed that I stripped off for the summer. I'm not saying that I want it to be 30 degrees or anything. But I would like it to be warmer than 9 degrees and rainy! Oh well!!
Anyway, tonight is part two of the Battle of Alberta. I think the Wills and I would likely skip out this game EXCEPT it they're playing Calgary tonight and it is going to be a good game!! So I guess all we can do is bundle up, drink some Hot Chocolate and enjoy the atmosphere.
No big plans for the weekend yet...any offers!

I get it!
Last night, I had my hair deep conditioned and trimmed (finally!) As usual, Alex straightened my hair. Anyway, while waiting for the bus today it finally dawned on me what they mean when they say someone's hair is Poker Straight!! I know...it's a stupid revelation, but I can't always control what pops into my mind when I'm waiting for the bus.
Aside from the hair cut, last night was uneventful. I came home to Robert watching the Smallville DVDs. He liked the straight hair, which shocked me because he always said he preferred me with curly hair. I think I have given up trying to understand men.
Based on what it looks like outside, I think we'll hve another night in. Hopefully it won't be too cold for the game tomorrow!!!

A trip and fall!
Another day in the week of insanity!! Last night was relatively relaxing, especially once I finally got settled in at home. Just stayed in, had a late dinner and started watching Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 2.
Tonight, I'm finally getting my hair cut. I haven't had a trim since April, so I'm also getting a deep conditioning treatment. Fortunately, my appointment for tomorrow night got moved to Saturday, so that makes things a bit less hectic. Otherwise, nothing too exciting is going on in my life.
Funny story...our mail courier is a guy(Jay) that Robert used to work with at the Gas Pump. Jay hoy married in June and is finally going on his honeymoon this weekend. He was telling me how much he was looking forward to the time off. I told Jay I was jealous because I haven't really taken any time off. To this, Jay responded "You should tell Robert to take you somewhere!" I agree!!! How do I spin this one?? Any suggestions!??
So much to do...so few days
As I was laying in bed last night, it dawned on me how much I had going on this week. Tonight is one of my only free nights. Tomorrow and Thursday, I have appointments and on Friday I'm going to the football game! How does this happen?? I'm not a parent or anything...I should not be this busy! I guess I will just have to take advantage of the fact I don't have any plans tonight. We may just have to cozy up and finish watching the Smallville DVDs loaned to us.

AARRGGHH!
Okay, so I tried to post the other day. After I finished typing it all up, I tried to do a spell check and then....the whole thing got deleted. I just gave up. Perhaps it was a childish reaction, but I had just spent some time typing out a thoughtful post and in a split second it was gone forever.
Anyway, it's been a relativley uneventful weekend. It started out with some poker at Scott and Erin's. I lost both games, and now that I've read Dallas' poker strategy on her blog....I now know why. On Saturday, my brother and I went to a memorial for a family friend whose father passed away last week. That evening, I stayed in Sherwood Park to attend Dallas' spicy party. With three late nights in a row under my belt, I got home and pretty much crashed. The last two days have been pretty relaxed and low key. I'm contemplating going to one of the city-owned facilities today (free admission!). But I'm also hoping the jerk who rented Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 2 will soon return it to Rogers so that Robert and I can watch it.

Don't give into peer pressure unless...
your friends want you to!!!
Alright, after several weeks of being kept up to speed on Dallas' life as new mommy, and catching up with the eternally busy but just as sweet Erin, I have succumber to the pressure and started my own blog. Besides, it is the only way I can comment on my friends' blog entries. And if anyone has anything to say about mine, they have to join too!! Ha Ha!! You see how it comes full circle.
Anyway...I don't have much to say because my brain is operating very very slowly today. I didn't get much sleep last night and there isn't enough caffeine in the world to shake me awake right now. Who knew that people would be so celebratory about Alberta's Centennial?? Well, they were celebrating up 105 Street until 3 in the morning!!!
As far as I know, Robert and I have no plans tonight...unless you consider falling asleep watching a movie 'plans.'
